The first time Pink Floyd came to Switzerland was on November 1968 for a concert at the Kongresshaus in Zurich. Later, in 1970, they performed at the Montreux Casino (November 21st and 22nd). Because they were persuaded about the high quality of Pink Floyd’s music, the organisers of the classical music festival Montreux-Vevey which took place from September 1st to October 3rd, were not scared to program the meanwhile famous “Atom heart Mother Suite” within the classical creations. This was the second visit to Montreux of this progressive British rock group founded in 1965, on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th September at the “Pavillon des Sports” of Montreux, under exceptional good conditions.
