 Barbara Hendriks is born in 1948 at Stephens, USA. She gives her first public concert in 1974, at the San Francisco Opera. She starts then an international career by playing Suzanne's role in the Wedding of Figaro and sings at the biggest operas as Scala or Opéra de Paris. Barbara Hendriks is interpreting various operas as The Magic Flute by Mozart, The French Melodies or Mélisande by Debussy. But she does not only sing classical music, but gets involved with Jazz, in 1994, at the Montreux Jazz Festival. She is a loving mother of 2 children and has once been married to Martin Engström, her former agent and founder of the Verbier Festival & Academy, a classical music festival taking place in summer, in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Barbara is not married anymore with Engström and lives with her two children in Clarens, a village part of the Commune de Montreux.
