Image- Septembre Musical (infos...)
Started in 1946 by Manuel Roth the Montreux Septembre musical can be proud of a prestigious classical music history. With a classical and romantic repertory, this annual event welcomes, since the beginning of it's existence, very large orchestras. One example is the Vienna Philharmonique. During the 1960's the festival navigates with baroque music and in the '70s he is the only Festival who dares to program Pink Floyd and Ravi Shankar. In the 90's the name changes to "Festival International de Musique et d'Art Lyrique" and finds a way in the baroque operas and renaissance music played with ancient instruments. This transformation led to serious resistance from the local authorities and from 2005 the classical and romantic repertoire gets back thanks to Tobias Richter, son of famous conductor Carl Richter and general director of the Düsseldorf opera. M. Richter does not hesitate, in 2006,  to welcome in the fabulous Stravinski Auditorium hall, organized by montreuxmusic, the Queen Symphony with english conductor Tolga Kashif.
