ImageFrom 2nd to 17th July, Montreux vibrated, for the 38th time, to the rhythm of the Festival. Marked by the strong presence of jazz and unforgettable musical moments, this edition beat all the records with 100,000 spectators and about 220,000 visitors on the site despite bad weather conditions.

The biggest hall of the Festival, the Auditorium Stravinski, hosted a few big names of the moment, such as Alicia Keys, KoRn, The Corrs, Sean Paul, Dido, Seal and mythical groups like BB King, Dr John, Solomon Burke, Van Morrison, Patti LaBelle, Jorge Ben Jor, Buddy Guy, Deep Purple, Cheap Trick and Chic. Carlos Santana was with no doubt the star of this edition as he performed during three nights, one of which holding the exceptional project entitled «Hymns for Peace». In the new talents category, Renee Olstead was particularly impressive.

The Miles Davis Hall and its diverse and avant-garde programme seduced a large audience. A blend of numerous styles in which rock, electro pop, hip hop, reggae, world music, soul, R&B, rock, pop-folk were honoured. The venue also offered a mix between new discoveries and established artists: PJ Harvey, Black Rebel Motor Cycle, Archive, Gentleman, Yami Bolo, Avril, Blonde Redhead, Black Eyed Peas, Roots, George Clinton, Manuva, Ty, Tha Alkaholiks, Mark Ronson, Joss Stone, Tony Allen, Scissor Sisters, !!!, Michael Franti, Doctor L, Amp Fiddler, Suzanne Vega, Kings of Convenience and many others.
