Herbie Hancock and his “Headhunters” including amazing musicians as Darryl Jones, Mino Cinelu, Ndugu Chancler, Bill Evans and Wah Wah Jackson deliver a heavy Jazz Rock sound. Spyro Gyra is back and so is Steps Ahead with a brand new band. The only original musician being Mike Mainieri. Let us make mention of George Duke/Stanley Clarke and Rayford Griffin with Chaka Khan as guest singer. George Benson ventures on stage with a 4 piece band including McCoy Tyner on piano. We meet Dizzie Gillespie with Phil Woods and Bobby Hutcherson, Dianne Reeves, Tania Tikaram, Chico Hamilton, blessed guitarist trio by name Bireli Lagrene, Al DiMeola and Larry Coryell, Georgie Fame, The Ramsey Lewis Quartet, Etta James, BBKing, Carmen McRae, Spyro Gyra, Larry Carlton, Worldmusic with Farafina or Soul music with Lou Rawls and Elvis Costello.
