A joint venture with the Sao Paulo Festival brings a Brazilian atmosphere to Montreux from July 7 to 23 with Gilberto Gil and Airto Moreira. Jazz music is represented by Ray Charles, Mary Lou Williams, Stan Getz, Miriam Makeba, Bill Evans and Kenny Burrell,  John McLaughlin and his new “One Truth Band”, Billy Cobham, Pharoah Sanders, The Brecker Brothers with Warren Bernhardt, Steve Kahn and Mike Manieri recognized as an award-winning, jazz vibraphonist, Etta James, Taj Mahal, James Booker, Oscar Peterson and Count Basie Big Band. Stan Getz and his musicians offer a free and unexpected concert around the Casino swimming pool ! The Rock band Dixie Dregs and Sea Leavel (former Allman Brothers Band's musicians) captivate the audience. A European evening with Jan Akkerman, Chris Hinze, Joachim Kuehn, Jukka Tolonen band and Didier Lockwood.
