Santana plays at the Festival for the first time. Sadao Watanabe represents Japan and his performance remains as one of the best. The Rock music is represented by Maggie Bell/Stone the Crows and Chicken Shack. Gerry Mulligan comes over from the United Sates. Bill Evans comes back to Montreux with his trio.
