While you are in Montreux, don't forget to save some time for a visit to the “En Beauregard” Art Gallery. We have the wonderful exhibition by Batbileg Darjaa the Mongolian artist which some of you have seen in the UK, plus some art by local artists on the theme FREDDIE MERCURY MONTREUX! This should be a great experience for the art-lovers amongst you.
The ROYAL SQUEEZE BOX were in town recently and tried out the acoustic in the Catholic Church where they will be performing on the Saturday. WOW!!!!!!!! This concert will be an amazing experience. Totally un-plugged - you will be astounded!

We thought it might help all of you coming to Montreux for the Freddie Mercury’s Montreux Memorial Day this year, if we gave a short description of the music that will be performed for you over the three days. All the music except The Royal Squeeze Box concert will be around the statue.
On the Friday evening there will shows from Queen Unplugged Project, the well known Hungarian group, giving their arrangements of Queen ‘un-plugged’. Later there will be the unique arrangements for string quartet, keyboard and vocals of Montreux Tribute to Freddie.
Saturday will provide traditional Queen performed by the Spanish group ‘Ashen Crows’ in the afternoon. The evening will be busy with The Royal Squeeze Box plus special guest Karin ten Cate, the opera singer from last year’s ‘Barcelona’ performing in a local church. Following this will be ‘Swiss Folklore meets Queen’. Swiss sensation Nicolas Senn will explain about and play Queen on the traditional instrument, the Hackbrett and we have Nicolas Devènes, an alphorn player, who organizes the Alphorn Festival in Nendaz each July, performing his own version of some Queen songs. The end of the musical evening will be a performance by ‘Jiri Sevcik and the Pirate Swing Band’, from Czech Republic, playing their own original arrangements of well known and some not quite so well known songs. As the name suggests, it will be sort of Frank Sinatra/Michael Buble meets Queen, so bring along your dancing shoes!!
The Sunday shows will be the Italian band ‘Rock You’ playing their covers, and a sing-a-long by the statue to close the event.
